We are having a charity tea party in aid of Cork Cancer Research Centre on June 12th from 12 to 5PM.
On the same day at 3PM a new garden will be officially opened by the well-known garden writer, Charlie Wilkins, from Cork.
The latest garden is called Valley of Eden and visitors can take the Evolution Walk, which includes a life size dinosaur, a human sun dial, a giant stone man and the most destructive animal that ever lived.
Every year a different charity benefits from The Ewe open day and this year it is Cork Cancer Research Centre (CCRC). One in three Irish person will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime.
CCRC was established in 1999 as a collaboration between Cork University hospitals and University College Cork. CCRC is working to advance cancer treatment through research into cancer prevention, early detection and improved treatments. The Centre does not have any source of annual state funding and therefore is reliant on fundraising efforts. Fundraising provides the drive and encouragement for breakthroughs to be made and for improvements to be developed in the quality of life for all cancer patients.CCRC is dedicated to bringing new cancer treatments and preventive measures to patients and focuses on breast, colon, kidney, leukaemia and oesophageal cancers.
