Our annual charity tea party on Saturday June 9th was a great success and the weather was very kind to us for once with glorious sunshine.
We managed to raise 700 Euros in aid of The Cope Foundation in Skibbereen with the help of the proceeds from the garden entry fees all day and an afternoon cake sale.
Cope Foundation supports 2,350 children and adults of every ability to live life their way. They work to enhance the lives of people with an intellectual disability and/or autism; working in partnership with them, their families and local communities to provide a broad range of person centred services and supports. They offer these services and supports through a network of 69 locations all over Cork City and County. Cope Foundation Centres/Supports can be found dotted throughout Cork city as well as: Ballincollig; Mitchelstown; Fermoy; Midleton; Cobh; Carrigaline; Clonakilty; Bandon; Skibbereen; Macroom; Kanturk and Mallow.
The Ewe Experience annual charity day over 25 years has benefitted a wide range of causes, including Crumlin childrens hospital, The Irish Heart Foundation, Cork Cancer Research Centre, Rehabcare, The National Learning Network, Bantry Hospice, The Alzheimer Society, Rural Animal Welfare Resources (RAWR), Bantry Care for the Aged, CoAction, Cork ARC Cancer Support House.
Our Wishing Well, where visitors throw coins into a sculpture flower bowl, has also contributed to a range of charities, including Pieta House, suicide & self-harm prevention centre in Cork, and Bumbleance, The Children's National Ambulance Service.
